Overview

As Lead UX Designer, I was responsible for the research, design, testing, and delivery of several innovative digital financial products. The goal was to enhance online banking services while aligning with users’ real-world financial needs. I contributed across the full product lifecycle, from early discovery to post-launch iterations.

Key Responsibilities

  • UX Strategy & Research
    • Led discovery efforts through user interviews, journey mapping, and competitor analysis.
    • Defined a robust set of user personas grounded in research—still used as design thinking references by the team.
  • Product Design
    • Delivered UX flows and wireframes for new banking features.
    • Collaborated closely with Product Owners and Developers to refine user stories and design backlog items.
  • Testing & Validation
    • Organised and moderated usability testing sessions to gather insights and iterate on the banking app experience.
    • Prioritised quick wins and accessibility improvements in collaboration with engineering.
  • Design System & Documentation
    • Standardised UX patterns for a cohesive user experience across multiple digital products.
    • Documented findings and workflows to ensure continuity across teams.

Outcomes

  • Validated digital banking flows for account setup, transaction tracking, and in-app support.
  • Improved onboarding and task clarity for first-time users based on testing insights.
  • Contributed to the launch of a mobile banking platform positioned for early adopters in the UK fintech market.
